The thin wars are on for notebooks, beginning with this candid photo of Microsoft’s Bill Gates lifting up the thin and light Dell XPS M1330 as if it were a bouquet of roses. On his right is a guy music fans might be familiar with. A lead singer of an rish band called U2, “Bono” has done quite a lot for very worthwhile causes when he’s not on stage performing “rock n roll.” Bono like the XPS One, Dell’s monster desktop for power users. On Bono’s right is a guy I’m vaguely familiar with.

The Dell XPS m1330, m1530 and XPS One desktop will all wear the (PRODUCT) RED colors for AIDS in Africa relief. Vista, which is the XPs’s operating system of choice, will also wear (PRODUCT) RED stylings.

MacBook Air may be good for the environment but Dell XPS actually helps people.
