The iPod Touch Supreme is coated with 149 grams of 22 carat gold while the Apple logo is encrusted with 53 diamonds. The edges is lined with 300 additional diamonds while the Home button is covered with 12 diamonds and centered with a 2.1 carat pink diamond.

All that for just $233,000 or just over Php10 Million a pop.

There’s a vulnerability in the Denial of Service Safari browser vulnerability. This is similar to a previous TIFF exploit. Users of iPhones or iPod Touch can point their Safari browser to a malicious site. This will trigger a malicious script which uses up the devices’ memory and cause them to crash. Affected units are those that have been upgraded to firmware 1.0.2 to 1.1.3. All the new 16GB iPhones and 32GB iPod Touches are vulnerable to the virus.

But as one commenter points out: how are users going to manage all these applications on their respective multi-touch home pages?

My concern is in management of all these apps. You’re allowed a maximum of 9 Home Screens. With the 13 pre-installed apps (and the 4 on the dock), that leaves 131 spots for installable apps or webclips. That’s 148 icons in total.

My own opinion is that Apple might still have something totally brilliant up its sleeve. Probably a Mac Dashboard of some sort on the iPhone and iPod Touch. MacWorld 2008 left us disappointed and even a little angry at Apple. It’s time they vindicate itself. My humble suggestion: voice-activated apps.

Having problems with firmware 1.1.3 on your iPhone or iPod Touch? One solution reported is to downgrade iTunes from 7.6 to 7.4.2 temporarily while running iPhuc. Running the iPhone utility client with iTunes 7.6 will get you introuble but WickedPsyched has found a way to revert back to 7.4.2 while running iPhuc. Full instructions after the break.

1. get an old framework, you can use this to pull out the MobileDevice:

Even though Apple charges a $19.99 fee for the newest iPod Touch firmware upgrade, there are a lot of takers. Having Mail, Maps and other goodies like Stocks, Weather and, at last, Notes on an MP3 player, but around the world people have been complaining that they cannot upgrade their iPod Touches. They have the money, it’s just that the Apple iTunes Store is not available in their area. Let’s see. The iTunes Store is available in the following territories:

• U.S., Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Republic of the Philippines, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom

If you do not have a billing address in any of these countries, Apple will not let you purchase anything from the iTunes Store. Amazingly, all of Latin America is out. That means, even if you live in Puerto Rico, which is just a boat ride away from the U.S. and even Mexico (just across the border of the Apple base country), you cannot get have an iPod Touch with Maps and Mail. In Asia, though the iTunes Store is available in Japan and the Philippines, it is not available in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia nor Mainland China. Now, I can understand Apple’s reluctance to sell to China, but Taiwan and Singapore?

Looks like it’s time for Apple should check their own Maps application.

I hope this is absolutely true. As proof to Apple, the iPhone/ iPod Touch jail break community found the codename “LittleBear” in firmware 1.1.3.

The jailbreak for iPhone and iPod Touch firmware 1.1.3 has already been achieved by none other than the iPhone Development Team and iPhone Elite. Install third-party apps to your iPhone and iPod Touch. There is no public release of the jailbreak of the method. The Jailbreaking iPhone Development Community is resisting blurting out the means towards a jailbroken iPhone until they are certain anyone can do it without professional help…. Such caring folks. We love you!

This is by far Steve Jobs’ and Apple’s stupidest move. What amounts to an update for a smart gadget like the iPod Touch now comes with a price, according to Apple. Yes, you can now have an e-mail service on your iPod Touch + Google Maps with location support via WiFi triangulation. But $20 for these features? On a device that already has the capacity for such applications with no hardware additions, but only a little tweaking on the software side? Bah!

Didn’t Apple recently report a cash surplus? Then why so greedy Apple?
