When Steve Jobs announced the 4th gen iPod Nano in a recent townhall briefing with the press, he presented the 8GB and 16GB iPod Nano 4G.
Little did people realize that Apple originally developed the 4GB and 8GB models only and had to speed up production for the 16GB when they learned Microsoft is going for a 16GB Zune 2.0.

Now, some stocks of the 4GB iPod Nano 4G is being sold outside of the United States.

Price is actually similar to the 8GB so there’s no reason to get the lower capacity version other than as a collector’s item. Pictures taken here.
