Here’s another iPhone jailbreak, but this one is coming way left field from AriX, a 13-year-old developer. The iJailbreak developer has released iJailBreak 0.5.1, which unlocks the iPhone within 5 minutes. You can download the jailbreak here. The jailbreak code before that, the 0.5, can unlock 1.1.3 iPhone without “without any soft-upgrade bugs. This is currently iPhone only, however you can expect a version for iPod touches soon. It’s basically a visual frontend for ZiPhone, with a couple of extra features such as fixing the Bus error bug on Macs, and rebooting your iPod/iPhone automatically so you don’t have to fiddle with it.”
It is important to note about the 0.5 that “your iPhone be running a non-jailbroken 1.1.3. IMPORTANT: The unlock ONLY works for bootloader 4.6. When in doubt, don’t use the unlock
The actual jailbreaking process will take about 1 minute. If you have an iPhone and would like to unlock and “hactivate” as well (you will get the option when you start the jailbreak, that will take another 2 1/2 minutes.”
iJailBreak 0.5.1 vs. 0.5 - these are similar codes though the 0.5.1 includes fixes to previous bugs and should expand compatibility. A fix for segmentation fault errors and PPC compatibility have also been included in the 0.5.1.
